SecureRights Privacy Policy
SecureRights
is affiliated with LeadPoint, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its
headquarters in Los Angeles, California and maintains an online
marketplace that helps match businesses that provide residential
mortgages, debt financing and other financial products and services to
consumers who have expressed an interest in seeking such products and
services. SecureRights is an independent third party verification
service that is dedicated to combating fraud and protecting consumer
privacy. When consumers seeking financial products and services submit
their information through websites prominently displaying the
SecureRights logo, SecureRights verifies this consumer information and
shares that information only with providers of those financial products
and services. SecureRights also provides a mechanism for consumers to
report fraud or violations of their privacy. If you have questions or
concerns about this Privacy Policy, you should contact SecureRights by
going to the "Contact Us" page on the SecureRights website at
www.securerights.org.
Your privacy is
important to us. We understand that in seeking information on a
mortgage refinance or other financial product or service you are
entrusting us with your personal financial information. SecureRights
was created with consumer protection as a primary goal, and under no
circumstances will we sell or share your personal information except as
authorized by you or as required by law. This Privacy Policy describes
how we use personal information that you submit to us through a website
displaying the SecureRights logo, how that information is protected,
and what safeguards are available to you if you believe that your
privacy has been violated or your personal information misappropriated.
1. Who We Are.
SecureRights is a third party verification service dedicated to
protecting consumers from fraud and privacy violations. We work with
other businesses displaying the SecureRights logo such as the one from
whose website you transferred to get to this site. We provide a secure
platform for these businesses to manage and oversee the collection and
transfer of consumer information. SecureRights verifies information
submitted through its system by individual consumers seeking
information on financial products and services from the businesses that
provide them.
2. Information We Collect.
When you inquire about financial products or services through a website
displaying the SecureRights logo, you may be asked to enter personal
and non-personal information. Depending on the type of products or
services you are inquiring about, you may need to provide personal and
financial information such as your name, phone number, Social Security
Number, e-mail address, income and other financial information.
SecureRights will never request or collect data on subject areas
including medical/health conditions; racial or ethnic origin;
political, religious or philosophical beliefs or affiliations; trade
union membership or sex life. We will not sell or share any personal
information about you or with any other third party except as
authorized by you, to financial product and service providers who are
network members in the SecureRights system for the purpose of providing
the product or service you are requesting, or as may be required by law.
SecureRights'
technology also tracks aggregate information about how our system is
being used, including anonymous user information, the number of
visitors to our system sites, dates and times of visits and unique IP
identifiers of the computers that communicate with our system.
You
may also contact SecureRights through the "Contact Us" feature.
Participation in this area is completely voluntary and it is your
choice whether or not you wish to disclose your personal information to
us. In the "Contact Us" form, we may ask you for personally
identifiable information such as your name, mailing address, email
address, etc. This information will not be sold to any person or
organization. However, your information may be shared with other
parties relevant to your inquiry through SecureRights to help resolve
any issues you report to us. This is also the case if you file a
complaint form through SecureRights, as described below, to report
possible fraud or a violation of your privacy.
3. How Your Information is Used.
When you make an inquiry about a loan or other product through a
website displaying the SecureRights logo by entering your personal
information and clicking on the "Submit" button, you are authorizing
SecureRights to share your inquiry and your personal information with
other businesses who participate in the SecureRights system who provide
financial products or services that match your inquiry. Financial
institutions and other loan services who subscribe to our system
compete for the opportunity to provide financial products and services
that matches your inquiry. By submitting your information to us, you
are also authorizing these businesses to contact you directly by e-mail
and telephone with information about financial products or services
they offer that match your inquiry.
Your
information will not be shared by SecureRights with other third parties
or for any other purpose. However, you should be aware that we have no
control over how other businesses with whom we share your information
may use it or whether they will sell or share your information with
third parties. You should also be aware when you enter your information
through a website displaying the SecureRights logo, that website's
servers may be managed and operated by a business over which
SecureRights has no direct control. Consequently, these businesses,
such as the one from whose website you transferred here, may have
direct access to your information. Although SecureRights strongly
encourages the members of its network and the lead buyers and sellers
who participate in the SecureRights system to adopt responsible
approaches to online marketing, SecureRights is not responsible for the
information practices of these businesses or their partners. The
collection, use, and disclosure of information by these business and
their partners who may have access to your personal information through
our online marketplace are subject to their respective privacy
policies, which may differ from the SecureRights policy. Before you
enter your personal information through this website, you should also
consult the privacy policy of the business from whose website you
transferred to get to this one.
As part of
the SecureRights system of anti-fraud protection, we may also contact
you directly to verify that you have submitted the information received
through our website. By entering and submitting your personal contact
information, including phone number and e-mail address to our website,
you are authorizing SecureRights, at its discretion, to contact you to
confirm your identity and confirm that you are interested in seeking
information about the financial products or services in your request.
SecureRights may contact you, either by phone or e-mail, to confirm
that your information has not been submitted to our Web site
fraudulently or in error.
SecureRights may
release account and any other personal information when we believe
release is appropriate to respond to a subpoena or otherwise comply
with the law or protect the rights, property, or safety of SecureRights
or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies
and organizations for fraud protection.
4. How Our Privacy Policy is Monitored.
Protecting your privacy and monitoring the integrity of the
SecureRights network against identity theft, fraud, spam and other
illegal or nuisance activities are key objectives of SecureRights. To
this end we have designed several means of tracking your information
once submitted and helping to ensure that it remains secure.
SecureRights
employs industry standard security measures to ensure the security of
all personal data you submit directly to us. Any data that is stored on
SecureRights servers is treated as proprietary and confidential and is
not available to the public. SecureRights routinely evaluates its data
security practices to identify security threats or opportunities for
improvement. However, no transmission of data over the Internet is
guaranteed to be completely secure. It may be possible for third
parties not under the control of SecureRights to intercept or access
transmissions or private communications unlawfully. While we strive to
protect your personally identifiable information, SecureRights cannot
ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to
us.
In addition to our technical security
measures, we may attempt to contact you directly to confirm that you
are the person whose contact information was submitted and that you are
actually interested in seeking information on the financial products
and services identified in your inquiry. By submitting your contact
information to the SecureRights website, you are authorizing us to
contact you, in our discretion, for this purpose. Before your
information is submitted to our online marketplace and matched with a
financial vendor, you may receive an e-mail or telephone call from a
member of SecureRights' staff to confirm your identity and interest in
such a solicitation. If we discover that your information has been
submitted to us fraudulently or in error, we will not forward your
information to any third party and will retain your confidential
information for identification purposes to prevent further abuse of
your privacy. We will also take all enforcement action that we feel may
be appropriate.
In addition, if you become
aware, either from our contact with a SecureRights staff member or
otherwise, that your personal information has been submitted to
SecureRights or by a business affiliated with the SecureRights network
without your authorization, you may complete and submit a complaint
form at www.securerights.org which we will use to investigate and
resolve your complaint. By completing and submitting the SecureRights
fraud complaint form, you are authorizing SecureRights to contact you
further as needed for any additional information to investigate and
resolve your complaint.
5. Changes to This Policy; Additional Information.
If you have questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, you
should first contact SecureRights by going to the "Contact Us" page at
www.securerights.org. SecureRights may find it necessary or be legally
obligated to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do,
we will post those changes on this page and update the effective date
so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use
it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. Any changes will
become effective upon posting, unless otherwise stated.
This
Privacy Policy describes the standards to which SecureRights adheres in
handling information about consumers and their requests for information
on loans and other financial products. However, SecureRights is not
responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the financial
product and service providers who participate in its online marketplace
and may contact you with their offerings once you submit your
information. We also have no direct control over the practices and
privacy policies of the businesses, such as the one from whose website
you transferred to this site, who participate in the SecureRights
network. Although we monitor our network for fraud and other illegal
activity and we encourage the businesses who participate in our
marketplace and display the SecureRights logo to adhere to our same
standards of information privacy, we cannot control their operations or
policies. If you have submitted your information to SecureRights
through one of these businesses or are contacted by them subsequently,
we encourage you review their privacy policies and to contact them
directly for more information.
